General Description of Position:
Ensures compliance to all state and federal regulations as they pertain to health, safety, and environmental issues by developing, planning, and implementing specific programs and policies.
Duties:
Assist management with striving for safety excellence beyond compliance.
Responsible for Workman’s Compensation administration.
Ensure continual compliance with OSHA, FDEP, and EPA regulations.
Performs regular safety and environmental inspections and audits in accordance to prescribed policies and procedures.
Participate in incident investigations and assists management with determination of corrective actions.
Enter incident information in the EHS database and communicate incident investigation findings/solutions.
Develop, track & ensure implementation of corrective actions, EH&S policies, and best management practices
Safety Committee Facilitator (lead the EH&S initiatives)
Prepare and maintain all EH&S documentation and reporting to meet deadlines.
Oversee the EH&S reviewing of new/modified processes/equipment/chemicals.
Review chemicals for hazardous material approval.
Oversee hazardous waste program to include training, inspections, waste minimization, recordkeeping, proper handling, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes and universal waste.
Proactively monitor changing regulations to ensure future compliance
Responsible for communicating all relevant EH&S information to company & facility management, as well as facility employees
Develops and maintains worker safety programs in accordance with federal, state, local and OSHA guidelines.
Oversee implementation and updates of EHS programs and policies.
Trains employees on health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures including OSHA and applicable environmental regulations.
Informs supervisors about employee safety programs, environmental and safety issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Develops and implements and/or conducts EHS training such as New Hire Orientation, annual refresher training, and other routine safety training.
Oversees specialized safety requirements such respirator fit tests, fall protection, hearing conservation and other specialized programs.
Report to work on time for designated shift.
Required to adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
All other duties assigned.
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and/or Safety.
7+ years’ experience in the environmental health and safety management is required.
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledgeable about OSHA, RCRA, DOT and Title V Air regulations.
Professional certification preferred CSP, CIH or CHCM.
Environmental Conditions:
Works in both office and plant environment.
Office environment has controlled temperature, humidity, and noise levels.
Plant environment varies with outside temperature and noise levels vary in different production areas.
Effective near vision or near vision accommodation is required.
Talking and hearing are required.
Minimal bending, stooping, walking, and stair climbing are required as is lifting items of moderate weight.
MasterCraft quality standards and safety rules and regulations are mandatory.
Travel:
Minimal travel required.
