The Project Manager will be responsible for performing project management and manufacturing planning tasks for jobs and projects in a technical and dynamic aerospace environment.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
*Key Areas of Responsibility:*
* Creates a work environment that is conducive to teamwork and strong professional development.
* Takes assigned projects from estimating stage through to completion, while providing budgeting and operational justifications, as well as performing manufacturing planning.
* Provides customer interface for Project Kickoff, Design Reviews, Manufacturability Discussions, Engineering Change Discussions, Equitable Adjustment, and other responsibilities as assigned.
* Perform project management responsibilities for assigned projects from estimating stage to completion.
* Performs initial and ongoing project reviews with internal/external customers.
* Develops manufacturing planning, including material takeoffs, project schedule, and coordinates with the machine shop and fabrication shop to schedule and plan work efficiently.
* Identifies process deficiencies and develops solutions to correct and/or improve, root cause, and process flow.
* Coordinates the lessons learned/project reflection process for each assigned project.
* Perform additional assignments and/or duties as assigned by manager.
* Customer Status support that may require contact (verbal, written, or both) as needed.
*Skills and Requirements:*
* Minimum of 5-10 years of engineering or project management experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge of metal machining, welding, metal finishing, fabrication, and general assembly experience.
* Ability to initiate/manage cross-functional teams.
* Possesses critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
* Ability to lead by influencing, negotiating, and delegating.
* Experience working in an AS9100 regulated environment.
* SolidWorks design and drawing experience.
* Microsoft Suite proficiency, including Project.
*Preferred:*
* Experience with large structural fabrications including launch tower structure fabrication.
* Experience with NASA contracts.
* PMP Certification, or equivalent work experience.
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
* Must be able to sit or stand up to 8 hours per day uninterrupted.
